Fun with the R family!

I photographed the R family when their youngest boy was just a bump, so was absolutely thrilled when they got in touch to request a well overdue shoot that now that number three's on the way. We had a great, fun hour together and while sitting still was not really an option for these two boys (I admit it, I was exhausted at the end!) we still managed to get heaps of great shots! Here's a selection ...

Maternity Shoots

I really love it when women request a maternity shoot as pregnancy is such a rare and special time in your life, it really should be captured. I also feel extremely honoured as a photographer to be asked to do these sessions as the images are very personal, and while we're all supposed to glow and feel amazing during pregnancy, it doesn't always feel so great, and stripping down to almost nothing in front of someone else to show off your belly isn't easy for everyone. If you don't feel fantastic during pregnancy try not to let that put you off a photo session. The images don't have to go up on the wall, but at least you will always have a record of this time which, whether it feels great or not, is still definitely special.

I am now offering two-part portrait sessions that include one shoot during pregnancy and a second during the first few weeks of your precious newborn's life. Please feel free to contact me if you would like further info.

And a huge thanks to my lovely couple below who agreed to putting a few of their intimate photos on the blog for the rest of you to see.

Claire & Damo

Claire & Damo were married at the Vines in Red Hill late last year, one of the most picturesque locations I've worked at (do I say that about almost every venue?). Rain bucketed down just a few minutes into their ceremony, forcing the entire wedding to move not once but twice - yes twice! - before the ceremony could safely be completed. These guys had their fair share of misfortune leading up to the wedding so the fact they managed to keep smiles on their faces for the entire day and still have a ball is testament to what a great couple they are. As you can see below, despite the rain we still managed to capture beautiful images from their day. Enjoy ...

Everyone makes their way to the outdoor ceremony location ...

... only to have to shelter under umbrellas from the rain.

Claire & Damo decide to go ahead outdoors as the rain starts to clear ...

... but soon realise it isn't going to stop ...
... and head towards cover ...
... where they can finally be married!

The gardens at the venue were AMAZING! Here's a detail ...
... and here's the big picture!
And then it was time to brave the weather for more photos!

And to finish, their stunning cake ...

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I was away for most of January but am now well into work again in Feb and I have to say, it's fun to be back behind the camera and in front of the computer playing with photos again. Hope you all had a great New Year's Eve and a very relaxing January!

Okay, so before I go on I have to admit to a conflict of interest here because I'm about to blow someone's trumpet and just so everyone knows, she's a very good friend of mine... but I can't help it if one of my dearest friends is also exceedingly talented!

So ... yesterday I did a shoot with one of my best mates Debbie Wood who is fast becoming one of Melbourne's most sought after face painters. We had so much fun painting up her gorgeous son into a red hot tiger (as you can see from the photos, a very friendly red hot tiger!) and the pictures of him turned out so goddamn cute that I had to post a few. There's also one of my gorgeous little Poppy at the end with a tiny pair of angel wings painted on. If anyone is looking for a face painter for their next event or children's party, Deb is your girl, make sure you book her! Check out her website here - she has many other talents as well.

See, is not this the cutest tiger you've ever seen???
This is Toby trying to be a growling, angry tiger ... LOL!
... which obviously just wasn't going to work so we resorted to the friendly tiger look again....

And finally, Poppy being a total angel for her angel shot!
